In animal husbandry as a feed additive
Bone meal can be used as a calcium-rich feed Supplement for farm animals and Pets.
The use of bone meal prevents mineral deficiency, metabolic disorders, diseases of the cardiovascular and nervous systems.
Indications for use
Prevention of rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis in dogs, cats, birds and rodents.
Dosage and method of application
Daily dose - 5 g (1 teaspoon without the “slides”), 10 kg of animal weight. For pregnant and lactating animals, as well as by the decision of the veterinarian, the dosage may be doubled.
In agriculture as fertilizer
Bone (bone) flour — a product of processing of cattle bones, used as a phosphorus fertilizer (containing 29-34 % P2O5).
Tub used for crops (citrus, cherry-Laurel), and plants of open ground. Considered a slow-acting fertilizer.
Bone meal is organic (grease and glue — 26-30 %) and mineral (mainly Ca3(PO4)2 — 58-62 %) substances. Defatted bone meal contains 21% phosphoric acid and 4 % nitrogen, obesity bone meal (waste of adhesive plants) contains about 30 % phosphoric acid and 1.5 % nitrogen.
